What t ype of protein shakes are effective for weight lose?
I’m interested in finding out what type of protein shakes I should drink in order to lose weight. I have heard that whey protein is the type that I should be drinking, but I also heard that whey protein helps body builders gain weight. Can someone help me?
The problem with protein shakes is quite often you are replacing food for a shake. When you do that, you risk not getting proper nutrition. My question would be how much weight do you want to loose? If its just a few pounds, try to cut down the amount of sugar in your diet.

Ask your boyfriend how you can get more protein. I’m sure he can think of a way.

You can take whey when you are trying to gain or lose weight.
Along with working out, they take whey to make sure the weight they gain is as much muscle mass as they can and not fat (though they will still gain some fat, but they can lose that later).
It is also taken for those losing weight to help reduce the loss of muscle mass while losing weight.
A good brand of whey is Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey. The site below has more info about it.

None… Protein shakes, including whey protein shakes help you to build muscle. They are beneficial if you are straight dieting as the protein will keep you full for a longer period of time. Since you are trying to just lose weight, I’m assuming that you are also trying to burn fat, there is only one thing to do…. light weights, high reps…. Keep your diet relatively fat free, eat plenty of veggies, keep your diet really well balanced, try to stay away from red meat, eat fish or chicken instead, nothing fried, nothing greasy, etc… Also, drink water, and lots of water, at least 2 gallons a day, this will help to keep your system flushed, and since you’ll be working out hard…. keep you plenty hydrated. And of course stay away from desserts… yes I know its hard, but trust me, in the end you’ll thank me. You might even give me 10 points for this… lol….
Its alot of hard work, and you have to stay dilligent, but in the end it really does pay off.
So remember….
light weight, high reps in your workouts
plenty of water
lots of veggies, fruits, etc…
replace the beef and pork with chicken and fish
eat rice instead of potatoes
no alcohol
stay away from desserts (IF you have to, try this, suck on a piece of chocolate, the smaller the better)
And of course…. keep your mind healthy and concentrated on your goal. Trust me, you can do it.

Whey protein is fine BUT….it dosent make you feel as full as food. If you are hungry you will be more likely to eat more / unhealthy food. Try skinnless chicken breast, it is high in protein low in fat and you will feel more full.
