    Great, another ” …
Great, another ” Weight loss because of Water ” idea. I’M SO SICK OF THESE! I wish they would just find ONE…1…person who actually got lean doing nothing but drinking cold water. That person doesn’t exist. Alien life, Big Foot, and the guy who got lean from drinking more cold water.

  2. fatlossweekly Says:

    Just quit drinking …
Just quit drinking soda and sugar, make it habit to drink water for every meal. After a while you will not even want a soda and if you drink it there will be a gag reflex. The best part of this video is the “gabriel method” ad showing up on this video. LOL

  3. dcarrera01 Says:

    Steve is basically …
Steve is basically right. The specific heat capacity of water is 1 Cal per Kg per degree Centigrade. Say you drink a glass of cold water has 355ml (= a can of soda) at 10 degrees Centigrade. Your body raises the temperature of this water by 27 C (human body temp is 37C). This action requires 0.355 L * 27 C * 1 Cal / (C * L) = 9.6 Cal… So, one cold glass of water might make you burn 10 Cal… That’s about the same ad 90 seconds of cardio. :-P

  4. pimpslap69499598 Says:

    higher water intake …
higher water intake= momentary weight gain, lol. however, it helps ur muscles function properly like oil in an engine and flushes out toxins. so in a sense, higher water intake will increase fat loss but keep in mind, there is always too much of a good thing so dont go drinking 2-3 gallons a day.

  5. JessBisme Says:

    drinking ice cold …
drinking ice cold water does help you burn -some- calories… maybe he got the 30% mixed up with 30 calories. lol. 30 calories sounds more accurate.

  6. timeschange12 Says:

    water helps you …
water helps you loose weight because the kidney filters ur blood and the water in it and stuff and this takes a lot of energy…n thts y ur kidney has a lot of mitochondria..n if u drink more water…ur kidney needs to do more…so ye..u burn more calories

  7. lannijolie Says:

    This is not …
This is not entirely true. Maybe not in regards to the email you speak of but you need to drink water to lose weight. When i go on a diet and if i don’t drink2-3 Ls of water a day….i do not lose weight at all…Even when my food intake is the exact same with or without water. The fact is, water helps you lose weight.

  8. zztoproadster Says:

    Water helps …
Water helps eliminate toxins from the body, prevent many different health conditions, help in cell volumization, and help reduce body fat.

  9. jotunPIKK Says:

    Steve is 100% right …
Steve is 100% right, but I belive the empty calorie thing is just a “stamp” they put on calries that dont give you anything, like vitamins and minerals. Like alcohol or soda, yeah i know there are 0,004g of natrium per 100ml of pepsi max, but that doest count:)

  10. natalied12345 Says:

    aha thats …
    aha thats ridiculously stupid.

  11. Sigrafix Says:

    Yeah I actually …
Yeah I actually read somewhere that drinking a gallon of ice cold water is supposed to burn 100 calories?… Lol..

I dunno, but I drink lots of cold water anyway.. Creatine baby.

  12. osucowboyy Says:

    what you say is …
what you say is half true. while water contains no calories, soda, and any type of flavored drink contains empty calories, so its not the same as consuming calorie based foods. from what I understand the empty calories are metabolized differently than calories you get from food. I could be wrong, but steve always seems to know what hes talking about, so id listen to him.

  13. traceur9 Says:

    Cold water is not …
Cold water is not as good as room temperature water. It’s satisfying, but the colder it is the more confused your body will get. The cold water makes your body think it’s more hydrated than it really is. At least, that was the message when I was competing in track years ago.

  14. anterosnim Says:

    wrong!! well about …
wrong!! well about the water helping you lose weight lol how it helps is one water has no calories-helps ya with that calorie deficit.
for example say you have a sprite instead of a glass of water that is 110 extra calories per serving of sprite=12oz i believe.
two often times you will mistake thirst for hunger so if you have water it will actually curve you hunger and actually help you eat less providing you eat when your hungry and don’t over indulge in food.

    the metabolism stuff is true

    Steve, You are …
Steve, You are absolutely about the water thing, I actually tried it for a month, virtually drinking nothing but water, and lost NOTHING at all.

  18. NODDYFISCHER Says:

    Hey Steve, perhaps …
Hey Steve, perhaps the cold water is taking the place of the cake he’s been eating – for that hour!

  19. NODDYFISCHER Says:

    I love cheese, …
I love cheese, because it fills me up. I’ve just discovered that half-fat cheese taste great too. I’m happy, I can half my feast day calories by a half and still be full. And if fat is good for you, according to Atkins, then I’m still getting fat in my diet – just no where near as much. Come on!!!!

  20. Flypopa Says:

    Look at those legs. …
Look at those legs. Seems that they could lose a few kilos/pounds. Whats wrong with cold beer, would this work just as well?

  21. KaseyAkira Says:

    Anyway, down to …
    Anyway, down to business.

Steve is right on this one. Drinking cold water does burn calories… but considering how much contact the water has with your internal surface area, which is already heated, and how much energy is required to reheat yourself from a cold drink of water, you’re only burning 3 or 4 calories per glass. You’d have to drink 100 glasses to burn 400 calories, and there’s word for that kind of thing. Its called drowning.

  22. KaseyAkira Says:

As soon as I saw …
As soon as I saw the title on this video I laughed out loud for a full minute. I was almost CERTAIN this video would be about the scourge of you tube fitness videos, me! Then I watched it, and while I was a little let down, I’m sure my 53 million remarks have done something to influence the creation of this video. This is one of the few video series I’m not banned from yet, and I’m completely baffled as to why.
